Transitioning to memory care can be one of a family's most difficult decisions. We recognize the challenges families face and strive to provide an environment where seniors not only get the physical daily care they need—but also enjoy the highest possible quality of life with our focus on each person's spiritual, emotional, mental, and social needs.
Seniors in the early stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia may be most comfortable in our assisted living communities, which offer autonomy and independence backed by a strong safety net of care. Personal assistance, such as medication management or arranging medical appointments, can help structure the resident’s day, while vibrant social connections can help stave off memory loss and keep the mind sharp.
As Alzheimer’s progresses, our memory care communities follow our research-based program, BLOOM by Bethesda. As a faith-based organization, we value service above all else. Our compassionate team is here to serve our residents and their families with the transition to an advanced level of care and the 24-hour support following our WellnessPetals.
With BLOOM, our residents stay active in each Wellness Petal. This can slow the progression of Alzheimer’s or dementia and ease its effects. To help manage anxiety, wandering, and sundowner syndrome, BLOOM trains our Care Partners to personalize their approach to each resident.
Additionally, our communities offer various gardening areas, social settings, physical activities, and spiritual programs designed to care for and support individuals with dementia and their families.
The transition to memory care can be one of the most difficult decisions a family makes. Our compassionate team is committed to helping seniors not only get the physical care they need—but also enjoy the highest possible quality of life. Read more about our approach to memory care.

Our private studios with bath, and shared companion suites, are located in our friendly neighborhood setting. Our community features a comfortable lounge, family-style dining and vibrant living spaces. The beautifully landscaped grounds provide a secure outdoor setting with continuous walking paths in a tranquil setting.
Upon admission, our Health Services Director meets with new residents and families to develop a personal care plan, which includes an assessment of the resident’s physical and psychological needs, as well as personal preferences for care. We tailor care to meet each individual’s symptoms, recognizing every individual will be affected differently with memory loss. Our highly trained team—including around-the-clock licensed nurse supervision—tends to all our residents’ needs, from medication management to physical wellness. We update this plan regularly, or as a resident’s health changes.
It’s proven that residents with memory loss better maintain cognitive function, language skills, and a healthy routine with consistent social interaction. Memory Care Companion Suites create meaningful social connection between residents, and create affordable access to high-quality care. Studies show that older adults who move from an isolated home environment to a community setting experience the greatest health benefits from the daily social interaction, even greater than the benefits of regular medication management and balanced daily nutrition.
Our compassionate staff works with each resident and family to provide life enriching programs, and to create an environment where residents can succeed and thrive while maintaining as much familiarity as possible. Small accomplishments, such as working on a memory book, baking, or even making a bed, can be highly therapeutic and encouraging.
